LOT-EK è stato il primo studio di architettura di impiegare contenitori di carico e di altri "trovati" oggetti, come aereo fusoliere, come materiali da costruzione. Uno di questi contenitore a base di costruzione, la MDU, o Unità Mobile abitazione, è stato esposto presso il Whitney Museum of American Art nel 2004.
